Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell

A truly amazing book. I found the first volume pretty slow going and almost gave up on it but it was definitely worth sticking with. Once you get sucked in it's hard to get out.
I still have flashbacks.
Ladies of Grace Adieu is also excellent.
